Glendo, WY – Search and rescue crews have recovered the body of a kayaker who went missing at Glendo State Park. Gary Schoene, a spokesman for the Wyoming Department of State
Parks and Cultural Resources, says the body of 21-year-old Aaron Thomas Lopez of Cheyenne was found on the shoreline at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday. Schoene says it appears the man drowned. Lopez, who went missing Sept. 5, was kayaking in choppy water as he tried to retrieve a pontoon boat that had drifted away in the
southeastern part of Glendo, near the dam. Platte County Sheriff Steve Keigley has said Lopez was a seasonal employee of the Game and Fish Department and was off duty
when he disappeared.
