Cheyenne, Wy – State Senator Jayne Mockler has left the hospital more than a week after doctors opened her chest to repair a damaged lung. Mockler is running for mayor of Cheyenne. She says the she expects no long-term damage to her health. Meanwhile, Mockler dismissed her opponent's criticism that 15 years in the Legislature has left her unable to effectively run the city.
Mockler- I come from more of an elected by the people kind of structure, work your way up, represent them, give them a voice. That very difference tells you how differently we will manage and govern.
Mockler is running against Rick Kaysen, the former C-E-O of Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power. Kaysen has said that his business experience will make him a strong leader. Mockler says the company he ran was not transparent enough to know if he was an effective manager.
