Morning Sun May Have Contributed To Crash

Laramie, WY – A blinding morning sun is being
investigated as a possible cause of a series of crashes involving seven vehicles that killed one person on Interstate 80 at Rawlins.

The accidents occurred before 8 a.m. Wednesday within a three-mile stretch of the eastbound lane.

The Highway Patrol says the eastbound lane was closed for about
four hours while the wrecks were cleared. Traffic was rerouted
through Rawlins.

The name of the person killed was not immediately released.

Authorities say one driver noted that the sun was at an angle that made it difficult to see.
