MT Couple Seeks Help After Cattle Loss

Laramie, WY – A Montana couple whose cattle were slaughtered after brucellosis was detected in their herd have appealed to the governor for help to deal with financial setbacks.

Jim and Sandy Morgan met with Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer for about two hours this week, telling him that they have no way to pay their ranch mortgage.

Schweitzer said he would do what he could to help the family, but cautioned the governor's office doesn't have a lot of money to spend because most of the Montana state budget is set by lawmakers.
