National Parks threatened by climate

Laramie, Wy – A new report lists Yellowstone as one of the 25 National Parks in Peril due to climate change. The report was released today.(Thursday) Stephen Saunders with the Rocky Mountain Climate Change Organization says in Yellowstone Grizzly habitat is being harmed because of warmer temperatures. Overall he says there are number of things needed to save National Parks.
"We need migration corridors between parks and other protected lands so that species can move and adapt to changing temperatures and changing ecosystems. We've recommended strengthening the research capability of the Park service in part by returning to the park service research functions that were transferred to the U-S Geological Survey in 1993.
Saunders also wants national parks and the ecosystem around them to be expanded.
