New council starts work on early childhood care
Laramie, WY – Governor Dave Freudenthal has announced the formation of an early childhood advisory council in Wyoming. The council is designed to support and strengthen childcare and pre-school education in Wyoming by encouraging collaboration between public and private programs.
Executive director of the Wyoming Children's Action Alliance, Deanna Frey, says this council is a step in the right direction for Wyoming families.
"Investing in early childhood systems and childhood development is the best investment that we can make to build a strong foundation for communities, for families and for our state."
Council members include public and private childcare professionals as well as educators from all over the state. Their first order of business is to assess the quality of existing programs in Wyoming.
