Cheyenne, Wy – The legislature's revenue committee proposed a change to how money is distributed throughout state government. The bill sends more revenue to cities, counties, the university and a host of other entities. It also reduces what the state would save in its reserve account.
Senator Jane Mockler, a Democrat says this is not a good way to distribute funds.
Mockler would prefer giving more money to entities that prove they have a need. Under THIS bill even counties that are flush would automatically get more funding.
Supporters say the legislature needs to provide more money to cash strapped cities and towns.
