Laramie, Wy – The new head of education in Wyoming, Doctor Jim McBride, has a different vision for the Department of Ed than his predecessor. McBride is filling out the rest of Trent Blankenship's term. Today McBride announced that he is eliminating several managerial positions that Blankenship created. He says a huge yoke has been lifted from the department and morale has improved because of the elimination of a layer of management.
McBride says this will save the state 450 thousand dollars a year and not result in any reduction of service to schools. McBride says other changes are possible over the next few months.
