Casper, WY – A District Judge in Casper has denied a
motion for a new trial for a man convicted last month of killing his wife more than 16 years ago. Attorneys for David Bush argued he should be retried because prosecutors told jurors during closing statements that Bush was the "sole person with opportunity and motive" to kill his wife. Defense attorneys argued that was unfair because the prosecution prevented the defense from presenting evidence that someone else could have committed the murder. In March, a jury convicted Bush of second-degree murder. A sentencing date hasn't been set. Lynn Bush disappeared in December 1990 and her body was never found.
