No Smoking In Wyoming Prisons

Cheyenne, Wy – Smoke 'em if you've got 'em. Because in
Wyoming's prisons, time is running out.
Starting July first, tobacco products will be prohibited on all
Corrections Department property, including corrections
institutions, their grounds -- even their vehicles.
Already, the Corrections Department is making preparations.
That includes smoking cessation programs for inmates, which
already have enrolled hundreds of inmates. The department also is
making available a number of alternatives, from nicotine patches to
herbal chews to those squeaky stress-reducing balls.
Prisons elsewhere have found there's a downside to doing away
with tobacco -- a black market. One California prison found a
13-dollar can of tobacco could generate up to six-hundred dollars
in profits.
