Laramie, Wyo. – The director of the Lander-based National Outdoor Leadership School has been invited to a White House conference on conservation and reconnecting families with the outdoors.
John Gans says he hopes he will get a chance to make the case for preserving wild lands. "The importance of having wild country and wild places for all of our people for recreation purposes, for family purposes and for development purposes. And I think wild lands can have a wonderful impact on youth, young people when it comes to fishing, hiking or skiing," he said.
Gans will join a wide group of people interested in the outdoors and open spaces. Including ranchers. Gans says he is looking forward to the dialogue and says this conversation is long overdue.
