Laramie, Wy – People continue to remember former Governor Stan Hathaway as a mentor, a formidable politician and someone who was involved in landmark legislation. From Environmental laws to the Permanent Mineral Trust fund Hathaway was involved in several changes in the way the state did business. Historian Phil Roberts says Hathaway was a very hands-on Governor. Longtime Casper Star Tribune Capital Reporter Joan Barron remembers Hathaway as someone who fought hard to get his legislation passed. She says he had quite a temper and would get frustrated when people did not see the value in his plans. Governor Dave Freudenthal says Hathaway was a sound advisor and his death leaves a void.
