Laramie, WY – Oil and gas companies could be billed for causing damage to roads in Laramie County under new rules the county is writing for the industry.
The county is working with five oil companies and the Wyoming Petroleum Association to draft new rules. The rules may require oil and gas companies to pay for damage to county roads.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports that county officials want help maintaining roads that are heavily used for well sites. The rules may also include new rules for the storage of oil and gas equipment on private property. The rules will be ready for review in March.
