Opponents to Smoking Ban Start Referendum Effort

Laramie, Wy – As expected, liquor dealers and local
private clubs in Cheyenne are undertaking a petition drive to get the new smoking ban on the ballot in November.
Organizers need to collect nearly 27-hundred signatures from registered voters in the city within ten days.
The Cheyenne City Council approve the law on Monday. It is set to go into effect Aug. 15. If it is referred to a vote, the law will be suspended until the vote is held in November.
The ban prohibits smoking in almost all public places, including bars and private clubs.
