Laramie, WY – Rescue crews yesterday evacuated an injured paraglider who crash-landed on Mount Glory, above Teton Pass.
Nearly 20 volunteers from Teton County Search and Rescue helped to evacuate the injured paraglider. The man had called for help on his cell phone to report the accident.
Tim Ciocarlan of Teton County Search and Rescue says the man took off from near the top of Mount Glory. The man then crashed into the upper quarter of the Twin Slides area at about 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Ciocarlan says a helicopter took several rescuers to the top of Mount Glory. The rescuers moved the man into the helicopter for evacuation.
Ciocarlan says the man suffered injuries to his hand and wrist and possibly hip and back injuries. He was also reportedly in the beginning stages of hypothermia.
The rescue took about three hours and required emergency workers to close Highway 22 over Teton Pass.
