Cody, WY – Park county is appealing the dismissal of trespassing and littering charges against a federal wolf biologist and a private contractor. U-S Fish and Wildlife Service Wolf Coordinator Mike Jiminez and a Cody private contractor were found with tranquilized wolves on a ranch near Meeteetse in February. The agency says the pair inadvertenly landed on the private land while working to place radio tracking collars on the wolves. U-S District Judge Alan Johnson dismissed the trespassing charge last month, saying it was ridiculous. He said federal employees acting in their official capacity may not be prosecuted uner Wyoming's trespassing law.
