Cody, Wyoming –
Cody city officials think the time is right to try and ask citizens to support the optional 5th penny sales tax. But Cody can't pass it without support of the County Commissioners and other Communities within Park County. Cody Mayor Roger Sedam will meet with those leaders on Wednesday to chat about the concept. The tax has always been very unpopular in Park County, but Sedam notes that Citizens did support a capital facilities sales tax, so he is hopeful. State leaders have been critical of Cody for not passing such a tax and the Mayor thinks it has cost the community grants. Park County is just one of four counties without the fifth penny tax.
