People warned to be careful of skin cancer

Laramie, Wy – Health experts say that if you live in Wyoming, you need to be especially wary of developing skin cancer. Federal health statistics show that more new cases of skin cancer will be developed this year than other forms of cancer and Wyoming has the fourth highest melanoma death rate in the nation. The American Cancer Society's Kathy Holdefer says the return of nice weather is tempting, but people need to be careful.
"We are ready to get out there and enjoy the outdoors, but it is easy to forget that we have to protect ourselves from the sun when we are out. "
Holdefer says that includes wearing sun screen, a hat, and staying out of the sun between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention says that more new cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed in the U-S this year than new cases of breast, prostate, lung and colon cancer combined.
