Laramie, WY – The University of Wyoming could again offer undergraduate degrees in petroleum engineering. The issue has been studied internally and UW officials say it may go before the Board of Trustees this fall. The petroleum engineering program was eliminated in 1997, during a slump in the oil industry. But lately there's been growing interest in the field. Nearly half of the undergrad courses offered by the Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering are in petroleum engineering. Additionally, four of the department's nine faculty members are petroleum engineering professors.
