Plane Crashes After Leaving Rawlins Airport
Sand Lake, WY – A plane has crashed in the mountains northwest of Laramie, killing both people on board. Mike Morris with the Carbon County Sheriff's Department says the wreckage was located shortly after 7 a-m Tuesday morning. Morris says the plane was found west of Sand Lake. It was spotted by a Civil Air Patrol plane that directed crews on the ground to the aircraft. The crashed plane took off from the airport in Rawlins Monday night at 7:30 for a flight to Wray, Colorado. The names of the two victims have yet to be identified. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been contacted to investigate.
