Pneumonia Takes Sen. Craig Thomas Off Campaign Trail

Cheyenne, WY – Senator Craig Thomas has been knocked off
the campaign trail after coming down with pneumonia.
The 73-year-old Republican was taken by ambulance to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper yesterday (Sunday) morning after he became lightheaded while attending First United Methodist Church in Casper.
He was released later in the day and flew to his home in Washington, D-C, where he was resting today (Monday).
Spokesman Cameron Hardy says Thomas had contact with his staff and sounded in "good spirits" today but was tired and anxious to see what he needs to do to get better.
Thomas is undergoing further medical exams today at a hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.
Thomas had been scheduled to campaign door-to-door today. His campaign says he has already voted absentee.
Thomas is seeking a third six-year term. He is opposed by Democrat Dale Groutage, of Lander.
Hardy says Thomas will likely stay in Washington during the election.
