Powell, WY – Powell is searching for a site for its new high school now that the state has approved its five year construction plan. Trustees are examining at least one site, which will be discussed with other options at a district facilities committee meeting November 20th. Trustees say they want a site close to the current school. They own land west of the city, but area residents are opposed to building a school there. The state has allocated 180 thousand dollars to buy the land. Trustees also are in discussion with an architect to design the school. They believe construction could start by 2005.
