Laramie, WY – Presidential hopeful Tom Tancredo of Colorado has dropped out of the Wyoming Republican Party's presidential forum this Saturday, bringing the number of participants to three. The forum in Casper will include former Senator Fred Thompson, Kansas Senator Sam Brownback and California Congressman Duncan Hunter. Thompson will be unable to attend the second forum in Riverton later in the day. Wyoming G-O-P coordinator Tom Sansonetti says getting any candidates to come to Wyoming is better than previous years.
The state G-O-P is scheduled to select their nominee for the 2008 presidency on January fifth - earlier than any other primary or caucus in the nation. While the party may be punished for holding their convention before February third, Sansonetti says the buzz generated by the early date has justified the risk.
