Private gifts to UW total over $37 million

Laramie, WY – The University of Wyoming Foundation reports receiving $29.2 million in gifts during the fiscal year ending June 30.
In addition, $4.9 million was transferred to UW from the state of Wyoming to match some of the contributions. And new estate gift expectancies of $3.5 million were reported to UW, bringing the UW Foundation's total for private gifts to $37.6 million during the past fiscal year.
UW President Tom Buchanan says each gift makes a difference to the quality of the educational experience at the university.
Major gifts to the university during the past fiscal year include $2 million from Peabody Energy for clean coal technology, $1 million from Ultra Petroleum for the School of Energy Resources and $1 million from an anonymous donor for various programs.
