Laramie, Wy – The Equality State Policy Center says Wyoming has one of the weakest laws in the nation for lobbyist reporting.
The E-S-P-C promotes accountability in government and its board chair, Sarah Gorin, says the legislature should make lobbyists report more of their expenditures. She says they do not have to say how much they receive to lobby government or how much they spend on lodging and expenses during the year.
The law does already require lobbyists to report how much they spend on gifts and receptions for lawmakers.
Gorin says with a stronger law citizens could see how much oil and gas companies pay their lobbyists in total.
