Laramie, WY – State officials and community members will spend October gathering input across the state on what communities want when it comes to child care. Last March, governor dave freudenthal signed into law the quality child care bill. Now, a task force is researching the best way to turn that bill into a reality. Specifically they want to create a quality rating system for child care providers. And Task force chair Kathy Emmons says she will try to learn the real impacts of what the state suspects is a serious lack of child care. Emmons says child care providers face steep costs for expanding and could benefit from professional development training. Emmons' listening tour begins in October and will visit 24 sites in the state.
