Rawlins Prison Short 70 Staff

Laramie, Wy – Natural gas development is starting to move into Carbon County. That and the proximity of the other gas fields mean lots of job opportunities. The Recruiting Manager for the Department of Corrections, Brenda Reedy, says the prison in Rawlins has lost staff to higher paying jobs in the energy industry. This has left 70 positions open.
Reedy says this means people are working overtime. But, there is no concern about security at the prison being compromised. In response Reedy is aggressively recruiting new employees in and around Wyoming. They're even planning a trip to Illinois and Indiana soon to try and bring in new staff. On top of that they're offering bonus packages to people willing to work in Rawlins.
