Republicans jockey for position in House race

Cheyenne, Wyo. – The race for the Republican nomination for Wyoming's seat in the U.S. House already is shaping up to be an unusual one compared to the past few elections.

Buffalo rancher Mark Gordon is already running television ads. Also, Gordon has raised an unusually large amount of money for so early in the race - more than $400,000, including nearly $300,000 from himself.

Another Republican candidate, Cynthia Lummis, says she doesn't hope to raise as much money as Gordon. But Lummis hopes to make up for that with door-to-door campaigning.

Meanwhile, retired Navy officer Bill Winney has been driving around Wyoming, dropping by radio stations, senior centers and local Republican Party functions.

Winney says his goal is to stand up and let people have a look at him.
