Retailers Announced For Wyoming Lottery

WyoLotto

WyoLotto released its list of the approved retailers on Tuesday. Starting August 24th, people won’t have to travel across state lines to buy tickets. Convenience stores, gas stations, grocery stores, bars and restaurants across the state will sell Powerball and MegaMillions Tickets, making it the 44th state to do so.

Jodie Foster is the Sales Manager for a Kum & Go in Cheyenne that will be selling lotto tickets next month. While the store is already in a high traffic area, Foster said the addition of lottery tickets could bring in a whole new group of customers.

“Right now we serve about on average 1600 people a day, but I would expect it to grow to I’d say maybe 22… 2200,” said Foster.

With more customers comes more cash, and handling all that money means higher stakes for cashiers.

“It’s going to increase the money that we have in our store too so we’ll just have to be more careful with dropping money. And being more aware of how much is in our drawers,” said Foster.

There are currently 390 locations listed on the lottery commission’s website, but it will continue to accept applications. The lottery hopes to have 450 to 500 locations selling lottery tickets statewide.
