Laramie, Wy – A forest supervisor from Colorado plans to
lead a review of a prescribed burn that went out of control and destroyed four cabins south of Lander.
Pam Wilson is a spokeswoman for the various local, state and federal agencies fighting the fire. She says the review will begin on Monday.
Wilson says she isn't sure when the report will be ready but says a public meeting will be held once it's finished.
Thirty firefighters remain Friday at the site of the fire, and they're going through the burn area cooling off remaining hot spots.
The fire was started Saturday by the U-S Forest Service as a prescribed burn. But high winds whipped the fire out of control, sending it into a wooded subdivision about five miles outside of Lander. Four cabins burned on Monday.
The fire was completely contained Thursday. The fire burned a total of one-hundred-and-88 acres.
