Rural Residents To Be Focus Of Telecom Protections

Cheyenne, Wy – Wyoming's Office of Consumer Advocate will be proposing some changes to the states Telecommunications Law. Director Bryce Freeman thinks the 1995 law was good for Wyoming, but he thinks some fine tuning is needed. But while legislators look at some changes, he says there should be protections for rural customers. Freeman notes that providing rural residents updated telecommunications is costly, but his office is looking at laws that could protect those consumers.
