Laramie, Wy – Recommendations on protecting sage grouse are due out this month. Groups from all over the state have worked for more than a year on the recommendations.
Now a public forum and workshop on sage grouse are scheduled for August 23rd and 24th in Riverton.
About 100 Wyoming residents have been taking part in eight sage grouse working groups. The goal is to reverse the decline of sage grouse numbers over the past 50 years.
The first day of the workshop will consist of summaries presented by each working group.
Governor Freudenthal is scheduled to give the keynote speech on the second day of the sage grouse meetings.
