School Bus Seatbelt Debate Revisited

Cheyenne, Wy – A recent school bus accident in Cheyenne sent two children to the hospital. Nationwide serious school bus accidents are rare and that statistic holds true in Wyoming as well. Wyoming department of education transportation manager Leeds Pickering says that school buses have been the safest way for kids to travel to school here.
Pickering says that's out of the 13 million rides Wyoming kids took last year. Still questions remain about school bus safety. Studies about equipping them with seat belts have been mixed. The American Association of Pediatrics recommends seat belts in school buses but the national highway traffic safety administration finds they're not necessary.
