RIVERTON, Wyo – The Fremont County sheriff's and coroner's offices face bills of nearly $185-thousand dollars for locating a crashed airplane and recovering the four bodies of its occupants.
About $155,000 in costs incurred by the sheriff's office should qualify for reimbursement from the state. But the nearly $30,000 in costs incurred by the coroner's office to recover the bodies may have to be paid by the county.
The single engine plane crashed in the Wind River Range on Oct. 23, killing the pilot and his three sons.
