Senate set to debate Workers Comp
Cheyenne, WY – The State Senate is set to debate a comprehensive bill intended to reform the state workers compensation system. The Senate Labor committee gave approval to the bill on Friday. The bill will increase cost of living payments to those on permanent total disability. But Senator Charles Scott worries that this will encourage some injrued workers to take advantage of the system and remain on long term disability. But Green River Senator John Hastert doubts that will happen.
Hastert notes that the bill also provides increased death benefits to families. The state has a huge surplus in its workers compensation system.
