Senate Votes to Pay for Comm. College Buildings
Cheyenne, WY – The state might start paying for new buildings at the community colleges. Normally colleges have to do this on their own or with the help of their home counties. The legislature funded one project last year, and now the state senate voted to pay for three more buildings. Senator Michael Von Flatern sponsored the bill. He says this is positive because the projects all create needed workers. This money would go to a tech center in Gillette, health sciences building in Cheyenne and a diesel tech center in Rock Springs. Each college would have to contribute as well. There was some concern that the state is paying for something that local communities could fund completely on their own.
