Laramie, Wyo – Senators John Barrasso and Mike Enzi voted in favor of one Medicare bill.
But it was not the bill that A-A-R-P wanted the senators to support.
Wyoming's A-A-R-P director Rita Inoway says she is disappointed that Enzi and Barrasso voted against a 20-billion-dollar version proposed by Democrats.
She says it would have improved Medicare's prevention, mental health and low-income programs.
Inoway says she fears the issue has become partisan.
Senator Enzi's office says he supported a bill proposed by Republican senator because it extends Medicare programs and eliminates wasteful spending.
Enzi's office says the democratic bill was too costly and had little chance of being signed by President Bush.
