Shauna Smith Wins 400-Meter Hurdles

Sacramento, CA – In sports, University of Wyoming hurdler Shauna Smith made history Saturday. The UW Senior became the first UW athlete to win an N-C-A-A outdoor track championship. Smith, who is a Sheridan High School graduate, had the third fastest time during the preliminary rounds of the 400-meter hurdles. But her time of 54.32 seconds in the finals was not only good enough to win, but it also set a new Mountain West Conference record.
