Sheridan downtown honored

Sheridan, Wy – Downtown Sheridan has been designated one
of the country's "10 Great Neighborhoods" by the American
Planning Association.
W. Paul Farmer, the association's executive director, calls
Sheridan a "role model of good planning for communities around the
country."
The association says neighborhoods are evaluated on a range of
features, including design, architecture, safety, and accommodation
of multiple uses and multiple modes of transportation.
Sheridan associate city planner Elizabeth Wood says Sheridan's
downtown attracted attention because the buildings reflect mixture
of influences, including Sheridan's frontier period and Main Street
buildings constructed in the 1980s.
The Greater Park Hill neighborhood in Denver and the North End
neighborhood in Boise, Idaho, were the nearest cities to also make
the list.
