Cody, Wy – As a member of the Iraq study group former Wyoming U-S Senator Alan Simpson knew he might have a problem. Simpson thought there was a good chance that the recommendations that the bi-partisan group would make would go against wishes of the Bush administration. Simpson is a long time friend of Vice President Cheney, but Simpson says it was clear that a new approach was needed in Iraq. But he figured he would not have been asked if they did not want his opinion. Simpson says President Bush in particular seemed to appreciate their report and he says that time will tell how much of it will be adopted.
