In November, Laramie will have a new air carrier. The Laramie airport has decided to end its affiliation with Great Lakes aviation and will instead offer SkyWest as its carrier.
Airport Manager Jack Skinner says the change was made due to an abundance of complaints about the service Great Lakes provided. Skinner says it means that residents will no longer be able to book Frontier tickets to and from Laramie, but he hopes that the larger plan and better service will make up for that.
“Sky West will be flying as United Express. We will obviously lose the Frontier Code Share, but United is the dominant airline out of Denver, so it will be seamless travel if you are connecting with a United Flight.”
There also will only be two flights compared to the three offered by Great Lakes.
“But it is a larger aircraft with a Flight Attendant and a bathroom on it. 60 seats a day with two flights and the schedule is a lot better than we’ve had in the past as far as connecting times down in Denver.”
Skinner says the first flight from Laramie will be at six in the morning and the second will be early in the afternoon. There will also be a late night return flight.
