Laramie, WY – Tomorrow Cheyenne goes smoke free. That means that bars, restaurants and most other indoor public places must ask patrons to step outside for a cigarette. The City Council passed the ordinance last month, making some bar owners very unhappy. Among them is Mitch Jedlicki, the owner of the Outlaw Saloon in downtown Cheyenne. Jedlicki plans to close the bar on September 30 and move it about two miles outside of the city limits, out of the reach of the smoking ban. Jedlicki says, for his bar to survive, he needs people to stay for a long time at the bar and have many drinks. Restaurants, meantime, can make money on food. There are some exceptions to the ban, including
smoke shops, hotels and motels.
