Snow Casues Trouble Across Wyoming
Laramie, WY – A spring snowstorm stopped traffic on Interstate 80 between Laramie and Rawlins for more then 16 hours Thursday. That forced travelers had to wait out the storm or take a detour far to the north through Casper. The storm is blamed for a crash that killed a Colorado man on Interstate 25 near Douglas. The Wyoming Highway Patrol says Modesto Estrada was headed north when he lost control of his tractor trailer. The semi spun 180 degrees before overturning onto the passenger side. Estrada was not wearing a seat belt. The crash threw him from the cab and he became pinned underneath the truck. Meanwhile, over 100 migrating birds were found dead in Yellowstone National Park Wednesday, the apparent victims of snowy weather. Park rangers believe the birds encountered heavy snow and crashed onto paved areas near Canyon Village that they apparently mistook as open water.
