Laramie, Wyo. – The Snowy Range Ski Area won't open for the
season unless the owners are able to sell the property to someone who will open it this winter.
First National Bank President Dan Furphy says Rick and Terri Colling are trying to sell the area after operating it as the sole owners for 16 years. First National Bank is assisting in the sale.
Furphy says there are "three valid interested parties" considering purchasing the property, but there might not be a deal
in time for this ski season.
Furphy says the Collings have struggled to operate the area since the lodge burned down in 2003. The lodge has since been
Albany County Tourism Board Executive Director Fred Ockers says it would be a blow to the county's tourism if Snowy Range doesn't open for the season.
