Spring Storm Causes One Traffic Fatality
Laramie, Wy – The spring snow storm that hit Wyoming this week did result in one fatal car accident and the injury of a Highway Patrol Trooper. Thursday a 30 year old woman died when the S-U-V she was riding in slid off of I-25 northwest of Douglas. Sergeant Stephen Townsend with the Highway Patrol says Friday a trooper was assisting people that slid off of the highway south of Gillette when he was hit by the trailer of semi-truck, knocking him 40 feet. The driver did not stop at the point, but was pulled over and arrested closer to Gillette.
Townsend says the driver of that truck says he did not know he hit the trooper. Somehow that state trooper escaped with only minor injuries.
