Laramie, Wyo. – An advocate for charter schools says she's disappointed--but not surprised-- that the Cheyenne Classical Academy charter school received another no-vote today.
The state board of education denied the appeal to keep the school's application alive, saying that most of the reasons for the previous decision by the Laramie County School District were based on solid evidence.
Amy Edmonds, the director of the Wyoming Association of Public Charter Schools, says the system doesn't work because school districts have the power to approve or deny applications.
The attorney for the charter school says its board members will meet this week to decide whether to appeal the decision again or resubmit the application in the fall.
