State Forester Worried About The Fire Season

Cheyenne, Wy – Because of an early snow melt and the sudden lack of new moisture, the state forester says he is nervous about the upcoming fire season. Bill Crapser says it is possible that last years busy fire season could be even worse this year. But Crapser says they are trying to prepare for it the best they can at the state level. Crapser says they have worked out an agreement with South Dakota and other states to try and enhance regional firefighting efforts. He says they are also working on a campaign to reduce fire dangers across the state. But Crapser admits they are hoping for the best, but planning for the worst.
