Laramie, Wy – 40 states from around the country are receiving five-point-six million compact discs for free. This is part of a settlement with record companies accused of price gouging.
Wyoming participated in the suit and Attorney General Pat Crank says it means that each county library in the state will get at least 250 C-Ds for its collection. As for the cost to get this, expect for some administrative costs Crank says it is basically nothing. He says Wyoming is involved in ten to 20 multi state lawsuits at any given time. He says the state received 750 thousand dollars from that type of case between December 2002 and February 2004.
