Laramie, WY – The state's G-O-P says it is both unconcerned and unsurprised that the National Republican Party officially stripped Wyoming of delegates to the party's national convention in 2008.
National G-O-P chairman Mike Duncan says the party's rules left him no choice: those states that moved their presidential nomination process before a February 5th deadline will be punished.
The cut amounts to 14 seats for Wyoming. But State Coordinator Tom Sansonetti says the convention offers little more than a chance to cheer on a candidate that was selected long before hand.
He says getting more than half of the Republican candidates for president to Wyoming was well worth the price. He says Mitt Romney is scheduled to swing through the state November 18th.
