State Looking At Federal Cuts
Lara.mie, Wy –
Wyoming officials may need to take another look at eligibility requirements for the Medicaid program. Some states will also need to look at their welfare to work programs and consider trimming welfare rolls further after Senators eliminated some federal funding in that area. But Wyoming Department of Family Services Director Roger McDaniel says that won't be an option here, because Wyoming has already reduced Welfare Rolls over 90 percent. Both the Wyoming Departments of Family Services and Health are assessing the impacts of the budget cuts. Governor Dave Freudenthal will determine whether to ask for additional legislative support after the budget cuts become more clear.
